Vivo Ignite 2025
My Journey to the Top 10 National FinalistsThe Journey Begins
When I, Nilesh Kumar Saini, first heard about the Vivo Ignite National Science Fair 2025, I knew this was an opportunity to showcase my Smart Cane 2025 project on a national platform. As a 15-year-old student from Rohtak, Haryana, competing against thousands of brilliant young minds from across India seemed like a daunting challenge – but it was one I was ready to take on.
The journey started months before the actual event. I spent countless hours perfecting the Smart Cane 2025, ensuring every feature worked flawlessly – from the GPS navigation to the LiDAR-based obstacle detection, from the AI-powered voice guidance to the emergency SOS system. Every line of code, every circuit connection, every design decision was made with one goal in mind: creating an assistive device that could truly make a difference in the lives of visually impaired individuals.
The application process itself was rigorous. I had to submit detailed documentation about my project, explain the problem it solves, demonstrate the technology behind it, and articulate its potential impact. Writing the project proposal taught me how to communicate complex technical concepts in a way that anyone could understand – a skill that would prove invaluable throughout the competition.
Making it to Top 10
Receiving the news that Smart Cane 2025 had been selected as one of the Top 10 projects nationally was a moment I'll never forget. Out of thousands of innovative projects submitted from schools across India, my assistive technology solution had made it to the final round. I had achieved the 9th position nationally – a recognition that validated months of hard work and dedication.
The selection meant more than just personal achievement. It meant that the judges recognized the potential of Smart Cane 2025 to create real social impact. It meant that assistive technology for the visually impaired was being acknowledged as an important area of innovation. Most importantly, it meant I would get the opportunity to present my work at the national science fair and inspire others to use technology for social good.
The Vivo Ignite Experience
The Vivo Ignite National Science Fair 2025 was an incredible experience. Being surrounded by fellow young innovators, each with their own groundbreaking projects, was both humbling and inspiring. The energy at the event was electric – everyone was passionate about science, technology, and innovation.
Presenting Smart Cane 2025 to the judges and visitors was an amazing opportunity. I demonstrated each feature of the cane – showing how the GPS navigation guides users to their destinations, how the LiDAR sensor detects obstacles at different heights, how the voice guidance system provides real-time alerts, and how the SOS feature can save lives in emergencies. The feedback I received was overwhelmingly positive, with many people expressing how this technology could genuinely help visually impaired individuals lead more independent lives.
Meeting with Rajiv Makhni at Vivo Ignite 2025
One of the highlights of the event was meeting Rajiv Makhni, the renowned tech journalist and host. Having the opportunity to discuss Smart Cane 2025 with someone who has covered technology and innovation for decades was an incredible learning experience. His insights and encouragement motivated me to continue pushing the boundaries of what's possible with assistive technology.
